My lacrosse life started in 2016 when my son attended a clinic to try the game. It was an instant connection for him and it has quickly become his primary sport. At the clinic I met Daniel Hoffman, who I had played sofball with many years ago. He told me how awesome lacrosse is and asked if I'd like to "help out" at practices. I wanted to be a part so I said sure and the next thing you know I'm coaching the 5/6 boys. I have coached basketball, soccer, football, softball and baseball in the past and much of that experience carries over. In the summer of 2018 I was lucky enough to attend the Bill Pilat "The Goalie School" with my son. We learned a ton and are very excited to pass some of that along to all the goalies that we can reach.
I started with Rogers Lacrosse club for the 2015 season. My daughter Maddie (5/6) and son Mikey (3/4) played. In 2016 I took over the head coaching job for the 3/4 team all three of my kids played Jacob (3/4). I have coached football, soccer, baseball, wrestling, box lacrosse and Lacrosse. I have been coaching for the past 8 years. In 2019 I joined the board as vice president. Jacob and Mikey have been doing select ball since 2016. In 2018 I had the opportunity to help coach a clinic that was put on by Paul Rabil. Amazing experience. I have the level 1 and 2 coaches training and I am currently the assistant coach for the 5/6 boys team.
My family and I have lived in the PNW for 11 years now and are always finding new things to explore! My husband and I have three kids that keep us on the go and we love being on their journey as they grow! In our time here, we've become very involved in our schools and community .. and this is how we "stumbled" into lacrosse! We love football, baseball and although this is only our second year as a "Lacrosse Family," we are fans for life!
Our family has been a part of sports in Puyallup for the past ten years, although we only discovered lacrosse three years ago. Our daughter will be starting her third year of Panthers Lacrosse this season. We are hooked on the sport! We only wish that our older boys had played the sport as well. The beauty of lacrosse is that the sport builds on teamwork and individual skills. Players of all sizes and skills can learn and excel at lacrosse no matter the age at which they begin. It is my pleasure to serve on the Rogers Lacrosse Club Board.
Girls Athletic Director
This will be my fourth season as the Puyallup Panthers Athletic Director. My daughter became interested in Lacrosse about 8 yrs ago, while we were walking through Dick's Sporting Goods. I helped out as sort of team parent, mostly chasing balls down and looking for them in the bushes. The following year I got more involved with score keeping and spotting for her coachs. About four years ago I took the level 1 & 2 coaches training, and worked with the 5/6 and 7/8 girls teams. I have had a blast every year and look forward to working with all teams and coaches in the coming months and season(s). I look forward to working with the coaches and parents to help ensure that our ladies have a challenging and rewarding season.
Boys Athletic Director
Nicole Kent / Tony Duck
Tony has been involved with the organization since 2012 when his son began playing in 6th grade. The sport was an instant love for the entire family. The following years saw all three girls begin playing. Tony first coached as an Assistant in 2012, and has been either coaching or on the board since then. He brings his technical skills to the IT portion of the dual board position.
